We are an ever-growing team striving to make Lucky Cart the promotional intelligence expert. Some of us create, design and code. Others sell and showcase our solution. At the office, we love what we do and who we work with. Get To Know Us through this special collection of interviews.
What are you passionate about?
Music, no doubt about it. Innovation, more generally. Seeing people invent new things, that’s something that fascinates me. And reading. I just love learning.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
That’s the million dollar question…It’s so complicated! I’d choose a useful superpower, like teleportation, or the ability to read a book just by touching it with your finger. If you know everything about medecine, you could become a doctor without necessarily having the superpower to cure.
What skills do you like using the most and why?
Well, you need some in the first place! It’s not the fact of having one skill in particular, but knowing what to do with them. If I had to choose, it would revolve around what I do and enjoy in life: music and IT. I think that’s where I demonstrate the most skill. I am quite a diplomatic person too. I like defusing tension. It’s not very often that I get to use that skill, but it’s very gratifying.
My favorite culte quote is from the French series, Kaamelott, which is like Black Adder. One of the characters, Karadoc, says: “We say ‘to bury one’s head in the sand’, before I didn’t get it, but now that I’ve seen an ostrich do it, I understand! Someone who can run fast! Someone who lays giant eggs, that’s all!”
Have you ever recycled a present that someone has given to you?
No, I don’t think so, because receiving presents means a lot to me. In the worst case scenario, I have thrown away a present only because someone had upset me. But only in the recycling bin!
What’s the oldest thing you have in your fridge?
Well, I recently had a clean out of my fridge but normally you’d find those little sauces you get from the chinese takeaway, the ones that stay in your fridge for years. Ah wait, I managed to let a jar of jam go off!
Given the chance, who would you be for a day?
I’d be someone, whose knowledge I could benefit from in the long term, like Elon Musk from Tesla. Being in someone else’s shoes, someone who has a vision, someone who is so far ahead in the future. I said Elon Musk but it could also be someone like Thomas Pesquet, too.
What do you like most about your job?
Innovation, challenges, constant change. The fact that there is no strict routine, that everyday something new arrives.
How would you describe your job to a child?
Well, I already have trouble explaining what I do to adults, so you can imagine what it would like explaining it to a kid! To adults, I would say that I make tools which helps scientists create intelligent things. Let’s say that I ensure that peoples’ data that we receive is organised and made into something interesting, so it can be used to make things work.
What’s your favourite quote from a film?
It’s from the French series, Kaamelott, which is like Black Adder. One of the characters, Karadoc, says: “We say ‘to bury one’s head in the sand’, before I didn’t get it, but now that I’ve seen an ostrich do it, I understand! Someone who can run fast! Someone who lays giant eggs, that’s all!””
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Sleeping! That’s what makes a good developer – being lazy. I am a very, very lazy person. I love staying in my bed for hours on end, when I can.
